Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer

Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. What does that really mean? Ya, I understand it means keep your enemies close so you know what they are going to do next, but as a result why push your friends farther away? That’s a dangerous move. It’s not dangerous because of the possibility of losing those you care about; it’s dangerous because friends are sneaky. Unlike your enemy that will stab you in the front, a friend will stab you in your back. An enemy always has some reason, crazy or sane, to stab you, but a friend has none. They will just stab you, rip out your heart and shatter it out of the blue. So some might say then, keep your enemies closer but your friends closest. That still doesn’t work because then you lose sight of your enemies. You could try to keep them all closest, but that doesn’t always work. With that many people kept closest, you could lose sight of who is your friend and who is your enemy; that mistake could hurt you even greater in the long run. So instead of keeping your friends close and enemies closer, or keeping friends closer than enemies or even keeping them all closest, why don’t you just do one simple thing: WATCH YOUR OWN BACK!
